Jordan Miller : Painting in the studio

Jordan Leigh Miller grew up in Carman, Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1997 to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts education and explore an artistic career. She graduated from the University of Manitoba's School of Art with a BFA (honours) in May 2002.

Jordan is the Past President of Outworks Gallery and Studio — an artist collective formed by Winnipeg based artists who share ideas and work together in the spirit of collaboration and opportunity. She is studying Arts and Cultural Management through the University of Winnipeg's Continuing Education Program. Jordan is a member of ACI and MAWA.

Jordan's work has evolved over the past few years. She has explored different styles of art such as landscapes, abstract and expressive paintings. She has experimented with multi-media collages, sculpture, and installations. She has recently returned to a more abstract/expressive style of painting. Through art making Jordan explores living with Celiac Disease, Diabetes, and other medical problems. She also finds art therapeutic when exploring feelings towards her environment, work, and relationships.
